Terrence Regan, CTC, Founder
Terry is the President of Berkeley’s Northside Travel, Inc. Terry has been a travel agent in Berkeley since 1973. He holds a B.A. in history from Stanford University. Terry was a Peace Corps volunteer on the island of Antigua.
He came to Berkeley to attend the GTU. A part time job selling travel became a career. Terry taught travel classes for 40 years at Berkeley City College. He is an active member of Berkeley Rotary and Newman Hall/Holy Spirit Parish.
He has visited all seven continents and over 144 countries. Terry served three terms on ASTA’s Board of Directors. He is a member of San Francisco SKAL. He got his PADI Scuba certification on Grand Cayman.
He likes to share travel stories. Ask Terry about his driving tour of the Dordogne using Relais & Chateaux hotels from Karen Brown’s book. His favorite city is Paris. Most beautiful island is Bora Bora. His travel treasures decorate Berkeley’s Northside Travel’s walls. Terry wants to return to Tibet via a train from Beijing.
Michael McKee, CTC
Michael bikes each day from Alameda to Berkeley. Michael has a MS in Business from Hayward State University. He came to Northside Travel like Karen via Terry’s travel class at Vista College. Michael’s customers love his attention to detail. Besides his travel skills and knowledge, Michael can fix the office Dutch door and the President’s computer. A great baseball fan, Michael has visited every great baseball park in the USA. He loves selling Un-Cruise Adventures. He is responsible for the Alaska 2021 bear in our store front window.
David Shepherd
David is the manager of Berkeley’s Northside Travel. A bay area native (El Cerrito), David earned a degree in Geography from UC Berkeley and a MBA from Wharton. Guess where David learned his travel skills? A Stanford grad knows how to pick the best students in his Vista College travel classes. Now the most famous travel agent in Berkeley, David has surpassed his teacher. David knows the perfect hotel in London, Paris and Anchorage. David’s clients get the best business class air fares, and the best seats on which aircraft. David loves theater. He is a patron of Shot Gun Players. Each year he reserves an apartment for two weeks in Edinburgh, to enjoy its Festival and Fringe. He knows the best restaurants in Berkeley, Oakland and Berlin. David has favorite tour companies like Kensington Tours and Windstar Cruises. His customers trust his good taste in selecting the best. Thank you Vista College.
Nancy Smart
Nancy was an American Airlines Stewardess who ended up in Hawaii. When she moved to Oakland about 20 years ago, she got a job and training as a travel agent with the most famous Berkeley travel agency, Trips Out Travel. Five years ago, the owner of Trips Out asked if I room for Nancy in my office, since this owner was closing Trips Out. This was a gift from heaven, Northside Travel had lost our dear Mary Durantini to an untimely death. Nancy knows and loves Hawaii. She has customer skills and travel knowledge which enhance the Northside Travel team. She spends the month December each year visiting friends and relatives in Bavaria, visiting the Weihnachtsmarkt, the German Christmas Markets. Tours By Locals was introduced to our customers thanks to Nancy.
